Membership

What does it mean to be a member of Temple Sinai?

For many, belonging to a Temple is a transaction, like buying a car or dinner.  We pay our money and receive some service in return: a school to educate our students, a rabbi to perform lifecycle events, a place to pray. These are legitimate reasons to join a congregation and we believe you will find all of those at Temple Sinai.

However, there is something more to being a member. Above all, we embrace what it means to be a community.

For us, a community is not simply a group of people who belong to the same organization or live in the same area.  A community is a group of people who actively care about and for one another. When you join Temple Sinai, you enter our circle of caring where we do our best to understand your needs and aspirations and help you to reach them.  In return, we look to each of our members to enlarge their own circle of caring to include other members of Temple Sinai so that we can weave a stronger social fabric that helps each of us to live ennobled lives. We hope you will take the time to learn about us and allow us to learn about you.  Together we can make our community strong and our families supported.
