Caring Committee

The Caring Committee seeks to ensure that the congregants of Temple Sinai receive the needed caring for life cycle events and other situations that arise. We are responsible for providing and managing the caring efforts at Temple Sinai, including situations involving congregant family losses, and illness. The committee is also expanding its role to include caring for celebratory events in conjunction with other committees. Such events will include child birth, new membership, weddings, etc. The Caring Committee will work with the appropriate committees that already exist in support of the caring efforts, including Ritual (for family loss, e.g. funerals, shiva, yarzheits), Membership (new family holiday celebration), Sisterhood (Bereavement Baskets, etc.) and Social Action, to name a few. The committee will report directly to the President. The committee membership will not be limited. However, members will have specific responsibilities/assignments, including:

  • Food preparation/distribution
  • Caring Baskets (Bereavement, New birth, Wedding, New Member)
  • Home/Hospital Visit Coordination
  • Training (and new committee membership soliciting)
  • Committee interface contact (e.g. Caregiver Shabbat)
